100 UP FOR KEITH CHAPMAN

CATEGORIES:

Veteran Ford Fiesta campaigner Keith Chapman will reach a notable personal milestone when he lines up on the grid for the first Fiesta race this Saturday. For it will be the 100th race in the Competition Car Insurance backed championship that the Essex racer has entered in his ultra reliable Fiesta Zetec 1400cc.

However, Saturday’s milestone pales into insignificance in comparison to Keith’s complete Fiesta tally as he has now completed 271 races in the various guises of the Fiesta Championship since making his debut at Snetterton back in 1988. Keith’s current car was actually bought new in 1997 to contest the Fiesta series that was part of the TOCA package at the time so he has now chalked up an impressive 160 race starts in the same car.

The Competition Car Insurance Ford Fiesta Championship boasts an impressive entry of 44 cars for the Brands Hatch double header so the grid will be divided into two with Classes A & B going together and Class C running separately. On Sunday the Fiesta racers will be striving to win the International Police Association (IPA) Motorsport Cup. This prestigious trophy is sponsored by the Kent branch of the IPA and is set to become an annual event.
