This year's Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch (27th/28thOctober) is set to provide another great spectacle and continue the event's heritage and tradition.
The Festival celebrated its 40th-running last year, and with all classes of Formula Ford set to race for Festival titles next month, anticipation is high that the on-track action will provide the very best Formula Ford can offer.
Headlining the Festival for the first time are the new EcoBoost-powered cars. The 1.6-litre turbocharged Formula Fords are the main players in the Championship of Great Britain and will fight for Festival glory this year. Racing alongside them, whilst also attempting to gain the upper hand, will be drivers at the wheel of Duratec-powered Formula Fords.
As ever, the crowd-pleasing Kent Formula Fords will be a key part of the Festival, and trophies will be awarded to drivers competing across all Kent classes. In addition, there will also be a class for Zetecs, making 2012 the first time in the event's long history that four premier classes of Formula Ford are represented.
Organised by the BRSCC, the Festival holds a special place in the hearts of national racing supporters. "The Formula Ford Festival is one of the 'must do' events each season for competitors and spectators alike," says James Beckett, the event's co-ordinator on behalf of the BRSCC. “Every year the Formula Ford Festival offers great racing and I don't see 2012 being any different. Over the next few weeks the BRSCC will be working very hard to make sure that this year's Festival is enjoyable for everyone."
The Festival will be supported by the Dunlop Ford Fiesta Championship, the Motorsport News Fiesta Junior Championship and the BIGprofile Sports 2000 Championship (Duratec & Pintos).
