2019 TCR UK CALENDAR ANNOUNCED

CATEGORIES:

The TCR UK championship has today revealed its race calendar for the 2019 season. While six of the seven weekends are on circuits that will be familiar to UK drivers and fans, the event that will almost certainly grab the headlines is a trip to Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, where the championship will race in June on a date that has yet to be confirmed.

The 2019 season will get underway at Snetterton in Norfolk in April using the circuit’s 300 layout, before a trip to Oulton Park in Cheshire for the calendar’s only one-day event in May. The two races in Belgium in June are then followed by two race weekends in July – at Croft in North Yorkshire and at the Brands Hatch Indy circuit in Kent.

Following a six-week summer break, the championship will resume at Silverstone in September when TCR UK will be a support race to the GT Open series, continuing an association with the series started by TCR International and TCR Europe. Finally, in a repeat of this year’s series finale, a pair of races at Donington Park will round off the calendar in mid October.

The 2018 events at Castle Combe and Knockhill have made way for rounds at Snetterton and Spa in 2019, but it’s hoped that either or both circuits will return to the calendar in future years.
