ANGLESEY CURTAIN CALL FOR 2014 SEASON

The long 2014 season will finally come to an end for the BRSCC at about 3.25pm on Sunday afternoon when the chequered flag comes down on the Irish Global GT Lights race on the Anglesey Coastal circuit.

The race will be the last of 8 scheduled at our Anglesey Winter Raceday, and we have received quite a healthy entry for the season finale. The Irish Global GT Lights will be supported by their Irish cousins in the RT Supercars, with the combined grid boasting 14 entries.

The largest entry is for the eclectic mix offered by the double-header for the combined Sports, Saloons and Caterham type cars. The entry list ranges from Doug Carter at the wheel of his 1300cc Radical PR6 through to Garry Wardle’s 3498cc Ginetta G50, with some Caterhams, Fiestas and BMWs, amongst others, in between.

There is a very competitive field for the two Formula Ford races with Northern Pre 90 champion Jamie Jardine hoping to add more gloss to what has been a very successful season for him. The overall race wins are likely to be contested by Martin Short, Tom McArthur, Jason Cooper and Irish invader Jack Byrne, all in contemporary equipment. The same can’t be said of BBC F1 commentator Ben Edwards, who fresh from Abu Dhabi, will start his first BRSCC race for many a year, piloting a 92 Van Diemen. Welcome back Ben!

The Winter Enduro Series has just one outing on Sunday, albeit for 45 minutes. Garry Wardle’s Ginetta G50 goes in that again, but he might get some competiton from the Porsche Boxster pairing of David Skellington and Richard Hope.
