Easter Sunday will see the BRSCC East Anglian Centre run their debut meeting on the new Snetterton 300 circuit in the second of the Club’s two meetings over the long Easter weekend.

The first of four races on Easter Sunday is for the Alfashop Alfa Romeo Championship. The race will mark the 30th anniversary of the series which staged its first ever round at Snett on Good Friday in 1982. 2010 champion Mel Healey made the perfect start to her defence of the title winning the season opener at Silverstone last month.

Providing the single-seater entertainment will be the BRSCC Formula Jedi Championship. 2009 champion Richard Mitcham will be hoping for more success this weekend after taking a double victory at the opening rounds at Oulton Park. However, not far behind are rapid new comer James Fletcher, and the Chips Away backed driver Dan Cook. Both will be looking for a high points scoring weekend, along with reigning champion Andrew Dunn.

The remaining two races on Sunday are both for Caterhams but feature three different championships, all sponsored by Avon Tyres. The Supersports & Roadsports A’s run together in a 30 minute race. Despite a dismal qualifying at Silverstone, Lee Wiggins turned things around for the first two races and comes to Norfolk as points leader. Reigning Roadsport-A champ and current R300 racer Jamie Orton probably feels that should be his position after poor luck in the second of the two Silverstone encounters.

Sunday will be brought to a close with a 20 minute Roadsport B race. Last year’s two Academy champions emerged on top at Silverstone, with Aussie driver Kurt Brady edging out Hertfordshire’s Wes Fox to head the points table. But they had anything but an easy ride and will have to put air between themselves and a large pack of potential contenders if they are to restrict the championship battle to themselves. There was no sign of this at Silverstone, with five-abreast racing, multiple changes of lead and perhaps any of ten cars looking like winners.

Monday’s action features second races for Saturday’s runners, except for the Alfas, with the Competition Car Insurance – Dunlop Ford Fiesta Championship and the Sports 2000’s joining the party.

The popular ST Class of the Fiestas gets Monday’s nine races underway. Ex Formula Fordster David Grady enjoyed a double victory at Silverstone to give himself the early edge over ST newcomers the Cockill brothers, Ed and Harry.

The Cockill boys won the Si (Ed) and Zetec (Harry) classes last season so with them now both in ST’s it leaves the field clear for others to prosper. In the Si Class newcomer John Langridge surprised everyone at Silverstone by winning both rounds, which were his first ever races! Not to be outdone, Scott Baines sent out an early message to his Class B rivals by also recording back to back wins. Grady, Langridge and Baines will certainly be worth keeping an eye on this weekend in what is another double header for the Fiesta Championship.

The Sports 2000 drivers get their first outing of the season in both the March Racing Academy Sports 2000 Duratec Championship and the SRCC Pinto Championship. Making a long overdue return to the track is Justin Everitt who last raced in the championship some 10 years ago. At the other end of the spectrum 17 year old Glaswegian Craig Mitchell will get behind the wheel of ex-Mike Turner Lola T88/90 in what will be his first Sports 2000 race.

In the Pinto Championship the way is clear for Andy Mathew and Paul Streat to battle it out for the title now that 2010 champion David Houghton has defected to the Duratecs.
