CARFEST SOUTH A SUCCESS

CATEGORIES:

The BRSCC would like to thank all the marshals and officials who contributed to the success of CarFest South.

Officials and marshals from our South Eastern Centre and Liz Goodrich from HQ had a busy, but successful few days working at Car Fest South. The three-day event was held at Laverstoke Park Farm, which is the Hampshire home of 1979 F1 World Champion, Jody Scheckter.

Tickets for event were sold out well in advance and despite some inclement weather on Saturday, Car Fest South proved to be a huge success, with 15,000 people attending on each day.

Club Chairman, Bernard Cottrell was the Clerk of the Course for the track events, which included a hill climb, expertly marshalled by BRSCC marshals. Brian Avery ran Race Control, Chief Scrutineer Mike Hibbins checked the vast array of cars, ranging from vintage to F1, where eligible and Judith Hibbins performed the Secretary of the Meeting duties, signing-on all the drivers. The BRSCC is grateful to everyone who gave up their time to make Car Fest South run smoothly.

Allied to the Northern event, at the beginning of the month, Car Fest South is the brainchild of Chris Evans and raises a lot of money for the BBC charity, Children In Need.
