MA5DA MX-5 CHAMPIONSHIP
The Ma5da MX5 Championship has now enjoyed three fantastic seasons as a fully fledged championship attracting a driver roster of almost 100 Mk1’s and full grids entered for every race.
Such has been the demand for places on the starting grid that a group system had to be introduced to cater for everyone who wanted to race. The Mk1 Championship has been specifically designed to allow all MAZDA MX-5 1600 mk1 race cars to be eligible without major changes from their 2010 race specification. Therefore the racing is affordable, entertaining and is aimed at both new and experienced drivers.
Ma5da Racing has quickly formulated the ideal race platform for MX5 drivers. Through the commitment, dedication and constant development of the series by the drivers it has gone from strength to strength to be recognised as the largest one make championship in the UK.
The season offers a full 20 race calendar over 9 meetings, making both the Mk1 and Mk3 championships great value and a cost effective way of going circuit racing.
To give drivers added value there is a full package of TV coverage in place and full driver hospitality in the paddock. If that isn’t enough, the season concludes with a separate Autumn Championship and the Ma5da 12-hr Winter Enduro in November at Snetterton, which is a uniquely formulated ‘Ma5da only’ relay endurance race.
Working with the BRSCC, the aim of Ma5da Racing is to run as a non-profit making club, giving value for money and providing a professional service to its registered members. Ma5da Racing is operated by drivers for drivers and will always put the majority first. Their motto is “Driving the Change, Making the Difference”, where drivers instigate the changes that make the difference.
New to the Ma5da Racing portfolio in 2012 is a series for the MX150-R, the MEV Exocet space frame car. The car has been purpose built using Mk1/Mk2 MX5 sub frames & running gear.
