Back by popular demand and at the insistence of many competitors, the former Ford Saloon Car Championship is back, but now renamed the Ford Racing Series.
Series owner and organiser Ford Racing UK, has put together a set of regulations which will see a potent mixture of Ford cars and also for 2014 classes for light commercials in the three class car and two class commercial setup.
The original Championship started back in 1990 and will this year celebrate the 25thanniversary in motorsport.
The Ford Racing Series has also jumped straight out of the blocks by securing a major sponsorship deal with not one, but two major sponsors. Pipe Center (part of the Wolseley Group) and Geberit (a Swiss manufacturer) have both signed up to support the Ford Racing Series for 2014, with options for the future seasons. Additional partner sponsors are also set to join in.
AJK-TV will be putting together a dedicated half hour programme after the filmed rounds and this footage will be broadcast on MotorsTV some four weeks later. Additionally, the USA web based tv site www.goracingtv.comare looking to take the programmes and other exciting media plans are also being planned.
One of the reasons why this Series will strike a chord with drivers is that it offers very good value for money. This is partly due to the cost effective nature of the Series as it is geared towards value for money and enjoyment. Ford Racing UK will also provide an on event support package at each meeting. The initial support from competitors has been very exciting and some three dozen drivers will be expected for the opening rounds.
Race day action is administered on behalf of Ford Racing UK by the British Racing & Sports Car Club.
