The Fiesta Junior Championship in 2013 will see more young drivers competing in this championship as it now is a genuine platform for the discerning 14 – 16 year old who wants to forge a career in higher disciplines of the sport.
The interest is now very high and the cost effectiveness of the Fiesta ST race car running on Dunlop tyres will bring out and develop the competitors and prepare them for the Fiesta Senior Championship and beyond.
The 2012 season saw 14 drivers out racing and over 16 race licences held by the competition department of the BRSCC. The relative costs cause some comment and disbelief as drivers from a Karting pedigree coming into Fiesta Junior find the modest costs for a season’s worth of racing a pleasant and pocket saving surprise.
The Fiesta ST is exactly the same type of car that is seen in Class C of the senior championship and is probably one of the best saloons for junior racers. The eight event and 16 race season is a real test for the competitor and one which in 2012, all stepped up to with assurance and zeal.
As the season progressed, the championship produced some fantastic racing and the outstanding abilities of the young drivers show-cased the championship as a real contender on the motorsport scene. Expect to see a near regular two dozen cars out racing in 2013, where the championship has gained support from Vortex Performance Exhausts.
