FESTIVAL TIME AT BRANDS HATCH

CATEGORIES:

The 38th BRSCC Formula Ford Festival takes place at Brands Hatch this weekend and with entry numbers up on last year and the weather forecast looking good it’s sure to be a Festival to remember.

Having won the MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain James Cole from Southport will be amongst the favourites but he will face a very stiff examination from American Josef Newgarden who ran Cole a close second in the championship. Newgarden impressed everyone last year winning the Kent Final in what was his first time at Brands Hatch.

Another pair of season long protagonists will be highly fancied in this years Kent category. Rory Butcher and Scott Malvern were neck and neck in the Club Formula Ford National Championship with the champion still to be decided by a judicial hearing of Motorsport Ireland. In the Zetecs, Neil Tofts will offer a robust defence of the title he won last year and this time the Zetecs have their own final rather than as a class in the Duratec final.

Supporting the Formula Fords this year are the three categories of the well supported Sports 2000 Championship, our Cardinus sponsored Club F3 championship and the Competition Car Insurance Ford Fiesta Championship. The Fiestas, run by Ford racing UK, have produced fantastic grids for the Club all season and this weekend is no different with 40 lining up at Brands Hatch.
