The BRSCC North Western Centre returns to Anglesey for the final time during the ‘regular’ season for a two-day meeting this weekend. There are 11 races on the schedule, which features four championships – the FunCup, the Advantage Motorsport Ford XR Challenge and both the Post 89 and Pre 90 classes of the Avon Tyres Northern Formula Ford 1600cc Championship.

Saturday’s action features a race for all four with the Post 89 Formula Fords having the honour of getting proceedings underway, with the first of their triple-header. With five rounds to go Martin Short from Blackburn leads a five-way fight for the title, with James Raven, Skylar Robinson, David McArthur and Austen Kimberly the other aspirants.

Next up is the Advantage Motorsport Ford XR Challenge, who are paying their third and last visit of the season to Trac Mon. In addition to championship points, the drivers will be battling to win the ‘Champion of Anglesey’ title. Mike Heath is the current leader but he will have to fight off what is sure to be a strong challenge from Lee Shropshire and XR3i driver Adam Burgess.

In the Pre90 Formula Fords, there are valuable points on offer across the three rounds. The title fight looks like a straight shoot-out between Chorley’s Chris Hodgen and Dutchman Jaap Blijleven, although Frodsham’s Jamie Jardine could still have a say if results go his way.

Saturday’s action concludes with a 3-hours race for the FunCup Championship. The Team Racelogic trio of Julian Thomas, Joachim Ritter and Nigel Greensall lead the championship but they are by no means home and dry. Team OBR, Eco Racing and Team Honeywell all have the quality and experience to reel them in, especially with 6-hours of ups and downs to contend with over the weekend.

Sunday’s action is almost a repeat of Saturday’s schedule, except the Formula Fords and XR Challenge will have two races each, one either side of another 3-hour FunCup stint.
