GALLIC FLAIR BRINGS FUNCUP VICTORY

Solutions Racing Car 251, Team Cuisine de France/SPAR, driven by Ian and Marc Connell along with Frenchman Franck Pelle, raced to their second victory of the year in the fourth round of the 2009 UK Funcup season at the BRSCC Anglesey meeting at the end of last month.
At the end of a gruelling six hour race their TDI diesel came home just one minute ahead of the second placed car at what was an exclusive Funcup raceday organised by the BRSCC North Western Centre at the Ty Croes circuit. Car 251 began the day by getting 10th place on the grid in the random grid draw but by the end of lap one Franck Pelle had moved the car up to 3rd place, before taking into the lead on lap four. By the final hour the Cuisine de France/SPAR backed car was leading by nearly two laps from Team RAM. However, the team were worried about rear tyre wear, so just fifteen minutes from the end they pitted to make a precautionary rear tyre change. The pit-crew did a great job which enabled Franck to bring the car home a minute ahead of the Team RAM car to give them a great win on teammate Ian Connell’s birthday! Buoyed by their victory the team will now head back to the North West for another BRSCC NW Centre run meeting at Oulton Park on Saturday 17th October before concluding the domestic season with a day/night race at Snetterton on 14th November.
