News MAGIC SUPPORT FOR CFT XR CHALLENGE

The CFT Services Ford XR Challenge, and driver Lee Shropshire in particular, have joined forces with Merseyside commercial radio station, Magic 1548, to do some joint promotions.

Lee, who has been a regular competitor in the BRSCC's XR Challenge for several years, has displayed his Ford Fiesta XR2 at several outdoor events that the station has been involved in over the summer.

In return, Magic’s top presenter, Breakfast Show host Keiron Fox, then attended the Silverstone Ford Fair a couple of weeks ago with Lee and some other XR Challenge drivers. Keiron had a great day out, so much so that he decided to come along to last Saturday’s Oulton Park meeting, and took a few competition winners along with him to watch the racing and see how the drivers prepare the cars in the Paddock. Lee, who displayed Magic 1548 decals on his #33 XR2, was third quickest in qualifying and then finished the twenty minute race in third in Class A and fourth overall.

Thanks to the efforts of Lee, championship co-ordinators Ken Mellor & Dave Fairclough, Magic 1548 will now be mentioning the CFT Services Ford XR Challenge on a regular basis on Keiron’s popular breakfast show and will post regular features on their website.
