Martin Dwyer collects the British Racing News Trophy from Flt. Lt. Charlie Brown.

The BRSCC Northern Centre held their annual awards dinner at Arties Mill, Brigg, last month and the event attracted its highest turn-out in for years.

The Centre's main guest on the night was Flight Lieutenant Charlie Brown, who is a test pilot for the Historic Aircraft Collection and a qualified Flying Instructor at the Central Flying School at RAF Cranwell. The Flight Lieutenant kindly presented the Centre's three main awards; Joyce Swan won the Nigel Mansell Trophy for the Marshal of the Year. Joyce was away in Australia on the night so Maureen Barnes collected the trophy on her behalf. Bouquets of flowers were also presented by Charlie Brown to Jo Coote (Centre Secretary), Helen Rushforth (Paddock Office) and Janet Wilson (Paddock Office) as a thank you for their invaluable services to the Northen Centre over many years.

A raffle was held to finish off the evening and £200 was raised, to be equally split between the local Air Ambulance and the Centre's Rescue Unit.

The BRSCC Northern Centre hosts its first meeting of the year, at Cadwell Park on Sunday 13th May.
