TRACKSPEED RETURN WITH TWIN-PORSCHE CAMPAIGN
Champion team Trackspeed is to return to the Avon Tyres British GT Championship next year to defend its titles. The Surrey-based squad plans to field two Porsche 911 GT3Rs in the series and will, says team manager Ricki Martino, be going all out for another championship victory.

The Formula Ford Festival 2010 held over the weekend of October 16-17 on Brands Hatch’s 1.2 mile Indy Circuit saw the BRSCC SE Centre join forces with HQ for a 24-race programme culminating in the three Formula Ford Finals. Midday rain on Saturday meant that the early races took place with drying track conditions.

The MJC Ferrari was the class of the field at last weekend’s Silverstone Britcar 24 hour race. Piloted by Surrey based Pole Witt Gamski, Keith Robinson, John Gaw & Phil Dryburgh the 430 GTC finished just under a minute ahead of the Martin Rich Porsche 997, driven by Martin Rich, Lukas Lichtner-Hoyer, Marco Seefried, Vitus Eckert.

The BRSCC was sad to hear last month that John Mitchell had passed away aged 71. John was a long serving marshal both for the Northern & North Western Centres and served the Club and motorsport for over 40 years.

It has been a week of mixed emotions for BRSCC member Scott Malvern. The BRSCC North Western Centre laid on a cavalcade of club motorsport in an incident-packed programme at Oulton Park on Saturday, 31st July. Such was the tightness of the schedule that those heroes in orange – the marshals – had to forgo their lunch-break to enable the timetable to be brought back on track after delays during the morning.

INTERNATIONAL ACTION AT ANGLESEY
The two day meeting staged by the BRSCC’s North Western Centre at Anglesey Circuit on 26/27th June had a distinctly international flavour with guest appearances from the Scottish Legends and Irish Global Lights series. In addition, a number of drivers from various worldwide destinations competed in other events and there was even a Globe-Trotting car out on the track.

FORD FIESTA CHAMPIONSHIP - IT JUST GETS BETTER!
This weekend the Competition Car Insurance/Dunlop Ford Fiesta Championship travels to Silverstone and entries have again soared to produce a tremendous grid of 46 cars. To accommodate the extra drivers who wish to race this season the Fiestas have been allocated two races across the three classes. Class A and B run together (Si and Zetec) while Class C (ST) has its own race.

The BRSCC South Eastern Centre’s 2010 season kicked off somewhat belatedly over the weekend of June 12 and 13 with a 17-race meeting using Brands Hatch’s 1.2 mile Indy Circuit. Saturday took a long while to brighten up, while Sunday was altogether more pleasant.

Avon Tyres British GT Championship debutant Marc Hayek and his vastly experienced co-driver Peter Kox claimed an emphatic fifth round win last Sunday at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, their Reiter Engineering Lamborghini Gallardo lapping the field to take the win. It was Swiss driver Hayek's solid first stint in the 150-minute endurance marathon which laid the groundwork for Dutchman Kox's finishing flourish.

CAMMISH & LIND TAKE ZANDVOORT HONOURS
In atrocious conditions at Zandvoort yesterday, Danish driver Dennis Lind came out on top to win the second Formula Ford race of the weekend and the eighth round of the Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain. In a race that was red-flagged after 10 laps, the Fluid Motorsport Van Diemen pilot claimed victory from Cliff Dempsey Racing's Scott Malvern, who leaves the Dutch track with a championship lead extended to 43 points.

The BRSCC has a busy weekend in store at Silverstone where staff from HQ and the Midland Centre will be running the prestigious FIA GT Supercar meeting, which also features the Cooper Tires British F3 International Series. The FIA GT1 World Championship made a spectacular debut under the bright lights of the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi two weeks ago but the focus now switches to Silverstone for the second round.

ROB SPRINGATE MAKES MN's TOP 10
Rob Springate was one of three Caterham racers to make the top ten Sportscar drivers nominated by Motorsport News. However, it was some achievement for the 21 year old novice to make the list given that he only passed his ARDS test at the end of 2008 and last year was his first season of racing!
