Joe Fulbrook and James Walker each made an excellent start to the 2011 Volkswagen Racing Cup with FUCHS Lubricants at Oulton Park on Easter Monday, by taking a win and a second place apiece - tying the pair on points at the top of the championship standings.

THREE WINS FROM THREE FOR PEERLESS MALVERN

Jamun Racing’s Scott Malvern sealed a perfect weekend hat-trick of race wins and fastest laps at Oulton Park over Easter to rocket up the Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain standings into second place - having begun the event down in 12th position.

Defending champions Trackspeed and series newcomers Scuderia Vittoria clinched a win apiece at Oulton Park as the 2011 Avon Tyres British GT Championship burst into life yesterday with the traditional Easter Weekend meeting at the picturesque Cheshire circuit.

AN ANGLESEY TRIPLE EASTER TREAT

Competitors in the BRSCC’s North Western Centre’s championships enjoyed no less than 3 races at Anglesey Circuit during the course of the Easter Weekend. The runners in the Post-89 and Pre-90 categories of the Avon Tyres Northern Formula Ford 1600 series and the S&G Response XR Challenge all had one event on Good Friday followed by two more on Easter Saturday.

CHAD RACING GO GREEN!

A successful debut outing in the Avon Tyres British GT Championship at Silverstone last year has prompted a full-season entry for 2011 from Iain Dockerill and Chad Racing, with BTCC star Steven Kane (pictured above) joining the team as Dockerill’s co-driver in the majority of the championship’s 10 races. They will drive a Ferrari 430 Scuderia backed by Green Apple Flooring.

NEW CADDY RACER FOR VW CUP

The latest addition to the 2011 Volkswagen Racing Cup grid was unveiled yesterday at the Commercial Vehicle Show at Birmingham’s NEC. The new Caddy Racer will join the highly competitive FUCHS Lubricants-backed championship with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles director Simon Elliott once again behind the wheel.

DOUBLES THE ORDER OF THE DAY

Double headers were the order of last weekend at Silverstone with everyone down for at least two races and no fewer than seven drivers recording back-to-back outright or class wins! The BRSCC Open Sportscar Series (OSS) saw a brace of wins for Graham Cole's Jade Trakstar followed home in each race by 2010 champion Tony Sinclair (Jade 3) and Alan Hogg (Radical SR8).

THANK YOU DON!

The BRSCC Midland Centre AGM last week unexpectedly proved to be a significant event in the Club’s history. After all the regular AGM formalities were concluded Don Truman announced that he was stepping down from the Centre’s management committee - thus ending over 60 years of dedicated service to the BRSCC.
