News LUNDQVIST TAKES WIN #4 IN BRITISH F4 AT ROCKINGHAM
Linus Lundqvist withstood pressure from a fast-starting Oliver York to take a commanding win from pole position in Round 22 of the F4 British Championship certified by FIA – powered by Ford EcoBoost. York sniffed his second victory of the season in the opening exchanges through turns one and two, at one point just nudging in front of Lundqvist.

There was many talking points to take away from this past weekend’s two day BRSCC Midlands Centre meeting as the Silverstone National circuit played hosts to our penultimate visit of the season in terms of club meetings. Whatever the context of those talking points the action certainly wasn’t dull and provided plenty of entertainment.

We’ve got a couple more visits left to the Home of British Motorsport this year as Silverstone welcomes our competitors on to the National circuit for the second time with some drivers having already seen these corners earlier in the season at the end of May. Single seaters and tin-tops dominate the timetable with plenty of close racing expected.

Danny Winstanley made it 4 Oulton Park wins in 4 Caterham races when the BRSCC’s North Western Centre took charge at the Cheshire circuit on 12th August. At the corresponding meeting a year ago, Winstanley took a double victory and he followed that up with a brace in the 2 Avon Tyres Caterham Seven 420R Championship encounters on Saturday.

Oliver York took his maiden win in the F4 British Championship certified by FIA – powered by Ford EcoBoost at Knockhill in Round 20 of the season and brought home Fortec Motorsports’ first win of the campaign. Carlin’s Logan Sargeant chased down York in second, while Hampus Ericsson provided fans with a thrilling display of defensive driving to hold on to the final podium place and claim another Ford F4 Challenge Cup victory for Fortec Motorsports.

TRS Arden’s Oscar Piastri made it win number four of the season in Round 19 of the F4 British Championship certified by FIA – powered by Ford EcoBoost at Knockhill from a hard-charging Jamie Caroline and team-mate Ayrton Simmons.

The ever enigmatic Oulton Park in Cheshire is one of our favourite circuits to visit, which is why we tend to come here so frequently! On this occasion, it’s all about one car, as Caterham Motorsport descend onto the lakeside circuit fresh from their 60th anniversary celebrations at the Caterham Festival at Donington Park. The title battles in all 5 championships here are set to continue in earnest.

Championship leader Jamie Caroline arrives having made yet more history a fortnight ago by winning a record nine British F4 races in one season.

A mixture of bright sunshine and torrential rain storms met the competitors in attendance for the recent race day at Snetterton on the 300. Despite only two championships on the timetable, the main event was a thrilling 6 hour endurance epic that saw the drivers tackle both weather conditions in the same race.

Macmillan AMR made up for their GT3 disappointment by claiming a first British GT4 victory at Brands Hatch after two standout drives by Jan Jonck and William Phillips. Tolman Motorsport’s David Pattison and Joe Osborne also fought through to finish second ahead of HHC Motorsport’s Will Tregurtha and Stuart Middleton, who extended their championship lead.

Oh, we do like to be beside the seaside, don’t you? Well, in our case when we say seaside, we mean the magnificent Anglesey circuit in the picturesque surrounding of the coast of northern Wales. The full length International layout will test the drivers in terms of skill, racecraft and raw ability, as we start to move through the second half of the 2017 season. This meeting run by the BRSCC North Western Centre is set to feature 21 races full of action and excitement.
