With it being a May Bank Holiday this weekend, it is a surprisingly quiet one for the BRSCC, with only our OSS Championship in action at an MG Car Club meeting at Brands Hatch on Saturday & Sunday.

The OSS drivers head to Brands Hatch this weekend for rounds 3 and 4 of the Championship after the opening rounds at Snetterton last weekend. The East Anglian weather was atrocious and unfortunately there was some damage inflicted on a few of the cars. However, in true motorsport spirit the teams have been burning the midnight oil all week to get ready for this weekend.

Jade Motorsport are one of the teams who have been busy and will field three cars for Tony Sinclair, Andy Kimpton and Simon Hardwick. Other Class A runners are Dave Brunsdon in his own designed and built car, the Ajec 01. Dave commutes to OSS races from his home in the South of France, so he will take some adjusting to the current spell of cold and wet weather in the UK!

Gerry and Miles Hulford will be sharing a Prosport LM3000 and they are one of two ‘father & son’ combinations to share a car this weekend. The other ‘dad & lad’ pairing is Chris and David Enderby in their Class C Radical SR4. David will race on Sunday as it is his birthday treat! Other Class C runners are Ake Bornebusch, 2011 Class D champion Graham Hill and another driver pairing of Shaun Mellors and Gary Ramsdale.

Class B sees the return of Doug Hart in the ultra-fast Chiron and he may give the Class A guys a good run for their money, having taken pole position at Rockingham last season. Doug’s Chiron has been re-built over the winter, in preparation for a serious attempt at the Championship.

The two other Class B guys, Darcy and Ginger Marshall, both took an outright win at Snetterton last weekend, Darcy just pipping Ginger to win the Archie Scott Brown Trophy.

Tim Covill is the sole Class D runner but his Mallock 31 Hayabsa is very quick so he may well upset some of the bigger engined cars.
