OULTON PARK PREVIEWED

CATEGORIES:

Fresh from their two dayer at Anglesey last weekend, the BRSCC North Western Centre is back in action just six days later at Oulton Park on Saturday.

This meeting will be a poignant one for the Centre’s growing army of marshals who will be honouring the memory of one of their own – Colin ‘Moose’ Benson – when the “Moose Trophy” is run for Club Formula Fords in the middle of the afternoon.

Before that, all the Club Formula Ford drivers will have completed a twenty minute round of the Creative LED Solutions North West Post 89 Championship, although there will be a few Pre 90 cars joining in as an invitation class.

The amazing Ma5da’s will complete a further to rounds in the battle for the inaugural championship crown. The MX5’s really have been the success story of the season and 35 cars are entered for the Oulton double header.

Another ‘new for 2009’ series that has performed well is the Race.TV backed Open Sports Car Series, which was devised to offer an opportunity to get all manner of sports cars out on the circuit and racing again .

The 10 race programme also includes double headers for the BRSCC Porsche 924 Championship, which should see the almost uncatchable Will Penrose secure the title, and the Motorlawyers Fiat Racing Challenge. The Punto HGT is now the car of choice in the Challenge ending the years of dominance by the Uno.
