News SRO RETAINED TO PROMOTE BRITISH GT
The BRSCC has today confirmed that the Stéphane Ratel Organisation has been retained to promote the Avon Tyres British GT Championship for the 2010 season.
The Club, which holds the permit to run the Championship, had received a proposal from Britcar to take over the promotion of the prestigious sportscar series next year.
BRSCC chairman Bernard Cottrell said “We have an excellent working relationship with both SRO and Britcar so it was a difficult choice. However, on this occasion we felt that the interests of the GT Championship would be best served by continuity. SRO has worked very hard to develop the commercial aspects of the championship over the last few years so we are delighted that they can continue to make progress. I would like to thank James Tucker and his team at Britcar for their interest in the GT Championship and we look forward to working with them at the Britcar 500 meeting at Silverstone next month."
