Porsche Boxster campaigner Dave Clark notched up his fifth win of the season at the BRSCC Midland Centre meeting at Mallory Park on Sunday and then promptly made it six with the last race of the day, edging out Richard Sykes on each occasion.

The Southampton based driver wasn’t the only driver celebrating a double as just three drivers accounted for 60% of the race wins, Paul Sheard and Dean Cook being the other dual winners in the Ma5da MX5 Championship and the Dunlop TVR Challenge respectively.

With 59 Ma5da MX5’s entered the championship split the drivers into 4 groups with each driver going twice. The other victories went to Championship leader Rob Boston and Chichester’s Luke Herbert. Ben Robinson and championship challenger Jonathan Greensmith both shared 2nd and 3rd place finishes.

In the Dunlop TVR Challenge Doug Ellwood’s Marcos Mantis, racing in the Invitation class, took second spot the in first race while Jamie Golby brought his Tuscan home in third and then went one better in the second TVR outing.

Andrew Hannington took the honours in the first race of the 924 class of the Porsche Championship but class leader Alistair Kirkham shrugged off a disappointing DNF in race one to take to take second behind Richard Styrin in the following round to maintain his place at the top of the Class A points table.

The Leicestershire branch of International Police Association was at Mallory to present their ‘Peter Goodwin Trophy’ which is awarded for ‘an outstanding effort in motorsport’. The unanimous choice for the winner was Craig Readyhough in his trusty Fiesta XR2. The achievement was all the more sweet as the recipient notched up his maiden race win in the BRS Recovery Ford XR Challenge.

In the 20 minute race for the MG Car Club Cockshoot Cup David Coulthard strengthened his position in the battle for the solid silver trophy with a win from Dan Surridge and Peter Bramble.

With this being the first Mallory Park meeting since Midland Centre stalwart Keith Jones passed away in May, a minutes silence was held before the start of racing in Keith's memory and was excellently observed.
