BRSCC Alfa Romeo Championship

The Alfa Romeo Championship is one of the most established and iconic saloon car series in the UK and will be entering its 37th season in 2018. One of its major strengths is that it offers the opportunity to race in a welcoming, yet highly competitive environment that suits a wide range of experience, ability and budget. Newcomers to racing are warmly encouraged and there are also many longer term competitors who would not consider racing anything other than an Alfa Romeo. The Championship can therefore be either a stepping stone to greater things or a longer term part of a driver’s racing life.

Unlike most one-make championships, the Alfa Romeo series is not confined to a single model and this is one of its appeals to both competitor and spectator - over 12 different models of Alfa have turned out to race in the last 3 or 4 years. The Championship has also welcomed many women drivers over the years and in 2010 and 2011 produced two different women champions. In 2015 we made a major change to the class structure when the previous six classes were simplified to a more manageable three, and in 2018 we have opened out the Modified and Power Trophy classes to Fiats, Abarths and Lancias to encourage even more variety.

The Class structure is as follows:

Unlimited capacity production based Alfa Romeos (including turbocharged and supercharged cars and those with sequential gearboxes) racing on slick tyres. Open also to Fiats, Abarths and Lancias.

This class runs to a power to weight formula (195 bhp at the wheels per 1000kg). The cars race on slick tyres and the class is also open to Fiats, Abarths and Lancias.

This is a Standard Production class using the 4 cylinder 16v transverse Alfa Romeo engine up to 2000cc. These cars race on a Yokohama A048 control tyre.
