* NORTHERN CENTRE ARE GO!
The BRSCC Northern Centre finally gets their 2006 season underway
this weekend at Cadwell Park, with a two day meeting featuring
sixteen races. It has been a long wait for the Centre staff but a
great mixture of championships should provide an exciting weekend
of racing. The meeting features the LMA Euro Saloon Championship,
the Motorsport News Caterham Roadsport Challenge, the Mighty &
Super Mighty Minis, the Alfashop Alfa Romeo Championship, the
Formula Jedi Championship, the Mill Street Motors Ford Saloons and
the www.dees.co.uk Ford Fiesta Championship. A full timetable can
be found at: www.brsccco.uk/calendar/timetables/cp15jul.pdf
* MIDLAND CENTRE AT SILVERSTONE
Life is never dull at the Midland Centre! This Saturday they are
running their third club meeting of the season at Silverstone and
of course they also ran the FIA GT Supercar Showdown there in May!
This Saturday will be a more relaxing affair with eight race
scheduled featuring the Lodge Sports Porsche 924 Championship,
Scottish Mini Coopers, Pirelli Ferrari Formula Classic and Pirelli
Ferrari Open Championships. The final instructions and timetable is
available at www.brscc.co.uk/calendar/final%20instructions/ss15jul.pdf
* C2A3100 REDUCTION ON FORMULA FORD (MS) ENTRY FEES
DALY SYSTEMS LTD has stepped in to provide sponsorship for the
final four rounds of the 2006 BRSCC Club Formula Ford MS
Championship which offers competing drivers a unique way of
claiming some of their race entry fees back.
To qualify for the E28098cashbackE28099 Formula Ford competitors
must commit to three of the last four rounds immediately and pay for
each round a minimum of 14 days prior to the race day, as per
championship regulations. Competitors can of course pay all entries
at once. Provided competitors enter three of the four remaining
rounds they will receive start money of C2A325 for each race. This
will be paid at the end of the season and will amount to a C2A3100
per driver if they enter all remaining rounds.
Long-term Formula Ford campaigner & Daly Systems Managing Director,
Peter Daly is behind the move. E2809CThe BRSCCE28099s admin is
greatly aided by getting race entries in as early as possible, but drivers
are reluctant to pay entry fees before they have to. The Club has
listened to what the competitors have to say and are aware of the
problems drivers face. We at Daly Systems have come up with an
innovative approach to assist both parties. Hopefully, we can
increase grids by offering cashback but to qualify
for the payments drivers must get race entries in early - which in turn
will prevent races being merged or cancelled at the last minute.
Everybody benefits!
The four remaining rounds are: Brands Hatch - Sunday 23rd July,
Mallory Park - Sunday 20th August, Snetterton - Sunday 9th
September, Silverstone - Sunday 8th October

* KENT COUNTY SHOW
The annual Kent County Show is this weekend (Friday to Sunday) at
Detling Hill (between the M20 & M2). It is a very well established
show in the South East and draws a crowd over around 100,000 over
the three days. As part of an initiative to introduce club
motorsport to a new audience the BRSCC has a stand at the Show
(many thanks to Advent Motorsport for providing the cars) so if you
are in the area come along to the Show and drop in at our stand.
For more information log-on to: www.kentshow.co.uk
* TRANSPONDERS
We have been asked by MST, who are the official timekeepers for the
majority of BRSCC meetings, to remind competitors that it is their
responsibility to ensure that their transponder is working properly
when they arrive at a race meeting. This will avoid a repeat of a
bizarre incident at a recent meeting when a race winner failed to
appear on the official result sheet as his transponder was broken.
