* BRSCC FORMULA FORD FESTIVAL
The season final draws to a close this weekend with the traditional
end of season Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch. A host of
young Formula Ford drivers will be striving to join such
illustrious names as Jenson Button, Eddie Irvine, Johnny Herbert
and Mark Webber who are all previous Festival winners. In addition
to the Formula Ford action several categories of Caterham will be
racing on the Saturday and on Sunday itE28099s the turn of the
Sports 2000 Championship, Heritage Touring Cars and Ford Saloons to join
the fray (see below).

*C2A3100 FORD SALOON RACE AT THE FESTIVAL
If youE28099ve got a race ready Ford Saloon here is your
opportunity to race at the Formula Ford Festival for just C2A3100! We are putting
on a Ford Saloon Trophy race that is open to Ford Saloons from any
BRSCC or non-BRSCC championships. There will be a 15 minute
qualifying session on Sunday morning followed by a 15 minute race
just prior to the three Festival finals E28093 all for just C2A3100
The race is open to all National B or above licence holders who are
members of any MSA recognised club. Click the above link for an

* FORUM AT THE FESTIVAL
One of the highlights of the Festival is always the driversE28099
forum which takes place in the Kentagon on Saturday evening. The forum
starts at 6.30pm and the man with the mic will be the voice of
Brands Hatch, Brian Jones. Many of the leading Formula Ford
protagonists will be present to give their views on the season gone
by, their future plans and of course their hopes for the weekend.
There is always plenty of veteran Formula Foresters in attendance
and aided by some liquid refreshment the stories and anecdotes of
FestivalE28099s long gone are coaxed out of them by Brian. It
really is a great evening of entertainment for the Formula Ford fanatic.
* BOB ARMSTRONG STEPS DOWN
After two spells as BRSCC Competitions Manager, totalling a period
of 17 years, Bob Armstrong has decided to leave the Club to
concentrate on developing a consultancy role within motorsport. Bob
explained E2809CAt this stage in my career I wanted to spend less
time in the office so I can concentrate on specific motorsport related
projectsE2809D. Bob was instrumental in all the major BRSCC
initiatives of his tenure including such prestigious events as the Birmingham
Superprix & Autoglass Tour of Britain. Bob also had a major role in
bringing many new championships to the Club. The BRSCC would like
to thank Bob for his many years of service and wish him the best of
luck with future projects.
* LMA
The 2006 LMA Euro Saloons Championship drew to a close at
Silverstone earlier this month. Newly crowned champion Jason Holmes
celebrated in style with his 10th class win of the season, with
Simon Blanckley winning the race after Peter Challis suffered a
broken gearshift while giving chase. The class champions for 2006
are John Hammersley (A), Holmes (B), Jim Mepham (C), Mark
Hammersley (D) and Simon Jackson (E). LMA would like to
congratulate the champions and everyone is looking forward to
another successful season in 2007. For full details of the

* MORE 2006 CHAMPIONS CONFIRMED
In addition to the LMA champion above the following have also

Formula Jedi Championship), Nigel Pike, Neven Kirkpatrick, Peter Crewes
(Classes A, B & C E28093 Mighty Minis Championship), Mark Robinson
(Ford XR2), Mike Wright (Ford XR3i), Rob Wells (Mill Street Motors
Ford Saloons), Shane Kelly (Enterprise Club F3), Jaffa Greatrex
(Fiat Challenge), Gary Halcrow (Caterham Roadsports), John
Hutchinson (Club FF NW Post 89), Tom Bradshaw (Club FF NW Pre 90)
and Paul Taylor (Volkswagen Racing Cup). Congratulations to them all!
* DINNER DANCE & AWARDS PRESENTATIONS
Tickets are now available for the BRSCC Dinner Dance and Annual
Awards Presentations where the respective 2006 Championship winners
will be presented with their trophies. The event will take place on
Saturday 18th November at the Holiday Inn Stratford-upon-Avon.

BRSCC members will once again be offered free entry to Autosport
International and this time they can choose which day they want to
attend from any of the four days of the Show, which runs from
Thursday 11th to Sunday 14th January 2007, at the NEC in
Birmingham. Full details of how to apply for your free ticket will
appear in the November edition of BRSCC Racing News and also next
monthE28099s e-newsletter. Please note that you will need to be a
current member of the BRSCC at the time of the Autosport Show to
claim your free ticket therefore if your membership expires before
January you will need to renew it beforehand.
* MOTORSPORT SAFETY FUND CHRISTMAS CARD
The Ford Escort was without doubt one of the greatest rally cars of
all time and no other model`s CV boasts eight consecutive wins on
the RAC Rally. Memories of these are certain to be rekindled by the
Motorsport Safety Fund`s 2006 Charity Christmas card, which
features an oil painting of Hannu Mikkola and Arne Hertz en route
to victory in the 1979 rally E28093 the last achieved on this event
by the all-conquering Escort. The card shows the car in typical pose E28093
on opposite lock on a forest stage. It was painted by impressionist-
style artist Matt Bruce RI. You can view an image of the card at
