The Avon Tyres Caterham Superlight Challenge is the Surrey-based sports car manufacturer’s premier British championship, and is further enhanced this season with the introduction of an all-new sequential gearbox to accompany the 2-litre Cosworth engine.

The Caterham Superlight Challenge is the Surrey-based sports car manufacturer’s premier British championship. For 2008 it becomes once again a one-class series, with the Cosworth-powered Superlight model (freshly equipped with a new six-speed sequential gearbox) taking centre stage. As in previous seasons, the Superlight Challenge can be counted upon to provide breathtakingly close racing and to enthral the many thousands of UK circuit-goers and millions worldwide via satellite TV.

Avon CR500 treaded race rubber provides the grip. The championship in 2008 will feature six double-header events at prestigious UK meetings, including several alongside the British F3 and British GT Championships. There are 12 scoring rounds in all. The championship enjoys extensive Sky Sports TV coverage, a paddock race centre and professional team support
