Motorsport News Caterham Roadsport Challenge There are two classes for Roadsports, each with their own grid(s). Roadsport B is primarily for drivers fresh from the Caterham Academy motorsport starter series, along with other relatively inexperienced or new competitors. Roadsport B cars run in road legal trim, and competitors can, and often do, drive them home from the circuit. Roadsport A gain a few performance-enhancing modifications and the cars are stripped of the necessities for road use, such as the screen and lights leaving them in full race-car style trim for their 30 minute races. However, even these can be converted back to road-legal in a matter of minutes!
Professional team support is not allowed in the B category, but there is factory assistance in the paddock and a great spirit of camaraderie among the drivers and their assistants. Roadsport-A is Caterham’s most popular race series and with a myriad of both team supported and private entries. This year’s Roadsport calendar features many highlights, not least the season finale in October at Brands Hatch, where the championship will conclude alongside several other of Caterham’s many race series.
