Club Formula Ford

ImageFormula Ford is the quintessential jewel in the crown of single seater racing and has provided a cost-effective route into single-seater racing since 1967. The marque is a worldwide phenomenon and as a result the supply of competitive cars is plentiful. Tightly defined specifications that rarely change, coupled with restrictions on tuning mean that older cars remain competitive. Many successful racing drivers have started their careers here, including current F1 stars Mark Webber, David Coulthard and Anthony Davidson.

For the 2008 season Club Formula Ford will continue to gather momentum. Racing is tough, close and very competitive and has proved to be the ideal training ground for young drivers breaking into circuit racing. The Club Formula Ford Championship allows options to race on variations of circuits, particularly favouring the North West and Midlands venues. The strong grids Club Formula Ford always attracts means the 41st anniversary season will be yet another to savour.

The big news for 2008 is there will be a National Championship for Club Formula Ford Four of the meetings in the North West and four in the Midlands South will make up a National calendar. Neil McArthur is continuing his sponsorship of the Club Formula Ford into a ninth season and for 2008 all three championships - North West, Midlands South and National - will be run under the title of "Carphone Warehouse Networks Club Formula Ford Championship". Richard Egger Insurance is an additional associate sponsor of the Midlands South Championship.
