Toyo Tires BRSCC Porsche Championship

The BRSCC Porsche championship offers enjoyable and exciting racing for Porsche Boxster and 924 models. It is a very cost effective championship thanks to tightly controlled regulations that are designed to provide close racing, maximum driver enjoyment and a level playing field where the emphasis is on driver skill, not the size of budgets.
Competitors and race teams alike mix well in a friendly and welcoming paddock atmosphere; highly competitive it may be, but there is a real camaraderie amongst the drivers with what goes on in the paddock being almost as important as what happens on the track!

The current championship evolved out of the Porsche 924 series, which was one of the most successful one make championships in the UK for nearly two decades. This expanded in 2010 to include a class for race modified  Boxster 3.2S models to run alongside the classic 924, creating one of the fastest one-make classes in the UK with spectacular racing and attractive cars. A Production Boxster Class was added in 2012, providing progression opportunities for drivers, whilst maintaining the long held ethos of ‘cost effective Porsche racing’.

The championship is highly attractive to novices as well as more experienced drivers with very quick cars combined with close racing. Over the years, numerous drivers who cut their racing teeth in the Porsche 924 Championship have gone on to further success in other national and international championships, and it continues to be a great proving ground for aspiring race drivers.

There is excellent value on offer with 8 rounds in 2018 at some of the UK’s most prestigious circuits, all but one being triple headers and including some support rounds for the new high profile TCR race series.

Every round is televised, with professionally produced stand-alone TV programmes broadcast and viewed throughout the UK and continental Europe on the Motorsport TV channel. The programmes also feature on the BRSCC’s YouTube channel, part of an increasingly effective social media presence.
The championship has its own mobile race centre, providing on-circuit hospitality for teams, sponsors and guests during the season.
The championship is supported by a range of prestigious sponsors, including the long established title sponsor and tyre partner Toyo Tires, Rock Oil, Hartech, Jasmine Porschalink and Ryan Motorsport Insurance.

For 2018, the 3 established classes (Race Boxster, Production Boxster and 924) are being supplemented with a new Invitation class for 924s that don’t fully comply with the 924 class regulations.

Tech Spec

The Championship features a 4 class structure with well controlled regulations and Toyo R888R control tyres.

Class A - Race Boxster (986 and 987 3.2S) class
Adding a kit of racing and aero parts to a well balanced high performance mid engined sports car turns it into a “real” racing car for one of the UK’s fastest and most prestigious one-make racing classes:
 - All Boxster  986 or 987 3.2S models are eligible
 - Easily available racing and aero parts convert road going Boxster into a serious race car
 - Attractive and stylish modern cars that are exciting to race with quick lap times
 - Competitive grids with a good mix of experienced and novice drivers
 - Arrive and Drive options available

Class B - Production Boxster (986 3.2S) class
An affordable entry into Porsche Boxster racing, being for road based cars with few alterations beyond safety modifications:
 - Boxster  986 3.2S models are eligible
 - Standard cars other than safety and reliability modifications
 - A very cost effective entry level to high performance Porsche racing
 - Cars that are enjoyable to drive with rapid lap times

Class C - Porsche 924 (2.0 litre) class
The 924 class provides a low-budget entry into national level racing. Drivers enjoy close, competitive racing in easily maintained standard cars with affordable modifications that improve performance, safety and reliability:
 - Well-established and affordable championship with cars available to buy or hire
 - Cars that are cheap to buy, prepare and run and with competitive lap times
 - Mechanically simple cars with low cost and easily available parts
 - Well balanced chassis with high cornering speeds and competitive racing throughout the field
 - Assistance and advice freely available for newcomers

Porsche 924 Invitation class
New for 2018, a class for naturally aspirated 924 and 924S models that do not fully comply with the 924 class regulations.
