Since its inception in 1996 the F1000 Championship (formally Formula Jedi ) has providedexciting, cost effective racing and has established itself as the premier superbike engine powered single-seater category in the UK. Ideal for the novice or serious clubracer, F1000 also offers a proven and more affordable route onto the single-seaterladder from Karting. This is truly some of the fastest and most competitive single-seater racing in the country, where drivers come back season after season, and from where previous drivers have gone on to be successful in F3, Indy Lights, GP3, BTCC, and British and worldwide GT Championships.

F1000 utilises the very successful Jedi Racing Car’s manufactured single seater racing car which has excellent handling characteristics and safety record. With this proven, user friendly design, powered by a 1000cc high performance motorbike engine, drivers can find themselves going from 0-60mph in just under 3 seconds and on to 150mph, while revving to around 14000rpm!

The F1000 Championship visits some of the most popular circuits in the UK and will be part of the new TCR support package on two occasions in 2018, with competitors and teams benefiting from full factory spares from Jedi Racing cars Ltd, and Avon Tyre support provided by BMTR at race meetings. The 2018 calendar is run over 7 weekends with 5 triple headers and 2 double headers comprising 20 minute qualifying sessions and 15 minute races.

Great news for 2018 is the announcement of our title sponsor Speed Group Limited. Speed Group Limited is bringing valuable support that enables F1000 to build on its brand and exposure for the benefit of not only the championship, teams and drivers, but also our sponsors and partners. This exposure comes in the form of online television coverage for the season ahead, in addition to our well supported online media, coverage in the motorsport press, paddock presence and hospitality. "Our sponsorship will go towards promoting a championship that delivers remarkable value for the speed that the cars achieve on track. Now, with some high end promotion, we’re looking forward to F1000 raising its game in the Club arena,” said Clive Hawkes of Speed Group. A racing driver himself, along with CEO Roland Lewis, they can both be found on a grid in their prototypes or historic Group C and F1 cars.  Speed Group is a multi-faceted international group whose services include race engine build services at its facility in Littlehampton.

As well as the Championship class, 2018 sees the introduction of the Invitation Cup. Aimed at those competitors with Jedi manufactured cars of older specification and those that fall just outside of the full championship regulations, this class hopes to encourage drivers who could not previously compete to come and be part of the F1000 experience. The Invitation Cup has also attracted its own sponsor, Sonic Tools, a partner that the championship is looking forward to working with throughout the 2018 season.

Apart from the usual race winner and podium trophies, there are also other awards to race for included in our attractive awards package including: Circuit Champion, Sonic Tool’s Driver and Technician of the Meeting, Invitation Cup and Novice Awards.

While the racing on track is close and highly competitive, the atmosphere in the paddock is friendly and supportive with a great mix of those who maintain and run their own cars, and those that run with a team on an ‘Arrive and Drive’ basis. Test drives for race license and non race license holders are also available.

With big things happening in 2018 for the Speed Group F1000 Championship, there could be no better time to join one of the most exciting race series in the UK!
